she thinks . . .

I'm linking up with Jen from Ramblings of a Suburban Mom for Thursday Thoughts.

She thinks: This woman is amazing!  Each day Lina Fong posts photos with her doing yoga poses that are out of this world.  She is seriously, ridiculously talented. Her son is adorable and each photo is pure perfection, with simple  space, clean lines, and authenticity radiating through. My favorite photos are when she does her "stop, drop and yoga," and she immediately stops wherever she is and does a pose and snaps the photo.  The best was when she did a pose on the arm of the couch while her son squeezed his fire truck through. If you are not following her on Instagram then you are definitely missing out.

Speaking of yoga, I made a big decision/commitment that I am excited about, anxious about, happy about, worried about, and any other adjective you want to throw in there.  I registered for yoga teacher training to become a certified yoga instructor.  This is big for me.  To be honest, I never saw myself actually teaching yoga.  In fact, I only started to do yoga a few months ago, but already I am obsessed and just can't get enough.  It requires a significant time commitment and I feel anxious about the ways it will stretch me both literally and figuratively.  I hope to have the capacity beyond my own to embrace this exciting journey!

she watches:  I saw this video last night on fabfitfun's website and oh how I adored it. Rick Mereki spent 44 days, traveling 38,000 miles, across 11 countries, just to film this one-minute video that is awe inspiring.  The concept is simple, but wow, what an extraordinary video. Oh and don't blink at :28. Clap clap!

Over the holiday D and I saw The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. At the time, D and I were just so/so on the movie but it's funny how many times we have referenced it since. There is a wonderful underlying theme about living life to the fullest and it's so inspiring.  Oh and the soundtrack is great too! And the point to all this, is that it reminds me of the splendid video prepared by Rick Mereki

she hears: Thunder.  Today is perfect weather.  I am pretty sure that I have the opposite of SAD, because the rain absolutely inspires me and makes me feel so alive! Today is one of the gloomiest days yet, with thunder so loud the entire house rumbles and I LOVE IT!  Which is part of why my blog has a theme of creating happiness and making sunshine.  This is happy place.  A place to come and be inspired, receive a cup o' light and think positively.

She hears: The Piano Guys. And I've added another gem!  The Piano Guys newest video filmed at the Midway Ice Castles. I absolutely adored the movie Frozen and the soundtrack, but these guys knock it out of the park with their Vivaldi rendition of "Let it Go." Beautiful!  Take note of the iced over piano and ice sculpture chello too.

she carries: my new Brighton bag. Found in an airport on ultra clearance!  I am ecstatic!  How fun is this happy print?

Running Like Honey Boo Boo Child

she laughs: This totally reminds me of myself despite my best efforts. I laughed out loud!  It's the type of thing my sister would pin so I know she will appreciate this. Here comes Honey Boo Boo! Don't even get me started on the time I sat next to Honey Boo Boo's mom on a flight to Iowa. Er, I cannot confirm that it was Honey Boo Boo's mom, but if not, then it was certainly a close relative. I will save that fun story for another day.

doTERRA Grapefruit Essential Oil / www.mydoterra.com/enjoypurehealth
Grapefruit Essential Oil
she smells: Grapefruit.  Look at me "creating" my happy day. I love my essential oils!  They have completely transformed my life and allow me to be the person I was born to be. I start off each morning with a mug (always fun and sassy like this foxy one) full of hot water and a few drops of whatever essential oil I am digging for the day. I like it better than tea.  Lately I have been enjoying grapefruit. The benefits are real!  It is refreshening, energizing, and definitely detoxifying. Want to try some for free?  Message me below and I will send you, yes, a FREE sample. No obligation.  I just feel strongly that everyone should get the chance to experience the amazing benefits of pure essential oils

Crabtree & Evelyn Avocado Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy Cream

she feels: Crabtree and Evelyn Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy Avacoda, Olive & BasilI received this as a freebie from Nordstrom recently. I have never been a huge Crabtree and Evelyn fan, but this may have my mind changed.  It is so fantastic on the hands and has such a great light scent. Perfect for dry climates or just a pick-me-up for your hands.

What are you thinking about this Thursday?

February 2014 Stitch Fix Review

Stitch Fix Personal Stylist Box
Stitch Fix Personal Stylist Box

Woo-hoo! my 4th Stitch Fix arrived today!  I get pretty giddy to receive it in the mail because I never quite know what to expect.  Typically you receive a notification letting you know that your box has been shipped and it lists the item included in the shipment by name.  This time I did my best not to cheat and look for the items online so this one was a surprise.  Stitch Fix ships via fedex and arrives so quickly!

Stitch Fix Review
Stitch Fix Review Style Card
Each Stitch Fix box comes with a personal note and cards outlining how to wear each piece.  Stitch Fix is a great way to push your fashion boundaries and incorporate new pieces.

Stitch Fix is your own personal stylist at your fingertips.  You complete a profile to customize your preferences and style. You can request your "fix" as often as you like. The stylist reviews your profile and will even look at any pinterest boards you provide or other social media outlets. They get to know you and follow your instructions and then box up 5 items hand selected just for you which vary from jewelry, accessories, or other clothing items. Pay just $20 for the styling fee, then get the box in hand. You are free to keep one piece or all of the pieces.  If you keep everything in the box then Stitch Fix gives you a discount of 25% off. Only like one item!? No problem. Stitch Fix puts the $20 styling item towards anything you keep and even provides free return shipping - just enclose the items that didn't work and ship it back to Stitch Fix. It's really that easy.

Aspen Boat Neck Striped Cotton Tee
Aspen Boat Neck Striped Cotton Tee

Okay a disclaimer on all my photos: 1) I am not a model, nor did I make an effort to do myself up, so it is what it is, 2) I am not big on "selfies," but unfortunately my husband wasn't around to do the photo shoot. Let's hope I can get some better photos up soon and 3) watch for wild hair from trying things on - I have major bead head going on.  :)

Aspen Boat Neck Striped Cotton Tee
41Hawthorn Aspen Boat Neck Striped Cotton Tee

1. Aspen Boat Neck Striped Cotton Tee: By Fun2Fun, I love the detail on this shirt with the little gold buttons on the shoulders, however, the shirt felt a little stiff and didn't do a lot for my figure so I am not likely to keep it. I do love the sailor feel of this piece though.  Very cute print.

2. Roxanna Chevron Open Knit Cardigan: By TCEC. When I first opened the box and saw this piece I was really unsure.  The colors aren't me at all, but it's actually really quite cute on.  You be the judge.  :) I may or may not keep this.

3. Burgdof Diamond Printed Henley Blouse: By Fun2Fun. This is a definite no for me.  I left in the weird smile shot because I think it says it all.  I also included the full length so you could get an idea of the frumpiness of the ensemble.  Not my style and the color is a big no for me, but I appreciate the fun pattern and exposure to a new style and color.

Dalilah Sheer Floral Cluster Blouse

4. Dalilah Sheer Floral Cluster Blouse: By Sweet Rain. Funny, I actually got this exact same shirt last month but with a black background instead of navy.  It is fun, but I definitely don't need two.  It does capture my style though.  I love a romantic piece with some vintage flair.

5. Lisa Ladder Crochet Detail Peasant Blouse: By 41Hawthorne.  I should mention that 41Hawthorne is a Stitch Fix brand.  This is a great piece but I am uneasy with the price of $68.  Love the color, crochet detail and fit, but its likely not a keeper simply based on price.

All in all, I was pretty meh this month on my little box, but I still love this fun company and the convenience of easily broadening out my style.

If I were to keep all the items in the box, my total would be $195.  I plan on only keeping one piece and applying the $20 styling fee to the item of choice. If you are interested in trying Stitch Fix, you can visit their site here.  Did you try Stitch Fix this month? What did you think?

February 2014 Love With Food Subscription Box Review

February 2014 Love With Food Review | Create Happy Now
The Love With Food Box
Love with Food is one of my favorite subscription boxes because it is so affordable, just $10 a month and that includes shipping.  Your first box is just $2.

February 2014 Love With Food Review | Create Happy Now
First Look at the Contents

Love With Food subscription ships on the 10th of every month.  Inside each box is a a selection of goodies, treats, snacks, etc.  There are so many great products and I am always surprised that Love With Food fits so much into the box!  It's definitely one of the very best snack subscription boxes out there. Hands down.  If you like any of the products then you can also purchase them in the Love with Food Store. For every box you purchase or provide a review for you earn points that can be used in the store. Can they be any more awesome!? Why yes they can, because for every box purchased, they donate a meal to a food bank in America! Pretty amazing right?

This month's box was pretty great!  The theme was "A Kiss to Build A Dream On."   Each box comes with a description card to let you know what is included in the box.

Snack Olives by Mario Camacho
Snack Olives by Mario Camacho
Snack Olives by Mario Camacho: I have received these before in another subscription box but they were the black olives.  They were actually quite good.  I am not a big green olive fan but will definitely try these.  So convenient and would definitely satisfy a salty craving.

Dark Chocolate Crepe by Dentelle by Gavottes
Dark Chocolate Crepe by Dentelle by Gavottes

Dark Chocolate Crepe Dentelle by Gavottes: These were pretty fabulous.  I am new to dark chocolate and for the first time in my life am actually starting to enjoy the taste.  These were very yummy but did leave an interesting after taste.  The product itself is light and airy but does have a slight coffee taste which I was not a huge fan off.  Mixed reviews as a whole but pretty tasty nevertheless.

Restaurant Style White Bean Chips by Beanitos
Restaurant Style White Bean Chips by Beanitos

Restaurant Style White Bean Chips by Beanitos: I was surprised how much I loved this snack!  They are high in fiber and even gluten free.  This particular kind is white bean with sea salt and they were absolutely delicious!  My husband tried them and was all meh on me, but they are seriously so good and the salt is perfection. Probably my favorite item in the box.

Dark Chocolate Blueberries by Emily’s Chocolate
Dark Chocolate Blueberries by Emily’s Chocolate

Dark Chocolate Covered Blueberries by Emily's Chocolates: My husband and I just saw dark chocolate covered pomegranates at Target over the weekend.  These looks awfully similar and I am sure they will be very delicious.  This will make a great after dinner treat!

Honey Graham Sticks by Back to Nature

Honey Graham Sticks by Back to Nature: I used to get these when in the snack box I would purchase when I flew on Delta.  They are very tasty and great with peanut butter.

Pure Notes Dark “Chocolatly” and “Mokaccino” Serious Milk Chocolate + Blue Bottle Coffee by TCHO

PureNotes Dark Chocolates by TCHO: As I mentioned above, I am enjoying dark chocolate more and more and this was no exception. Very tasty.

Mokaccino SeriousMilkeChocolate + Blue Bottle Coffee by TCHO: I am not a fan of coffee tasting chocolate, so this treats will get passed along to someone who will enjoy it more. The packaging is fun though and in looking at their webpage it looks like a pretty great company.

Chocolate Chip Biscotti by Biscotti di Suzy
Chocolate Chip Biscotti by Biscotti di Suzy

Chocolate Chip Biscotti by Biscotti di Suzy: I am not a biscotti fan, so I will not eat this but as far as biscotti goes, it looks pretty tasty.

Love with Food Chip Clip:  This is such a fun extra to receive.  I can never have enough chip clips and this one is so fun to go along with the month of love.

Bonus! Two coupons!  One is for a free Revolution Foods Build Your Own Meal Kit which has a $4.99 value and I am really excited to try it.

All in all a pretty great box! If you want to try a box for just $2.  Click here and use code "Yummy."

February 2014 PopSugar Must Have Box Review

February 2014 PopSugar Must Have Review Create Happy Now

I always get excited to receive my PopSugar Must Have box because it's always a surprise to see what items the PopSugar team has selected.  I love being exposed to new products and trends.  I always love the wonderful welcome "Enjoy" printed on every PopSugar I have ever received.  I ended up gifting this box to my sister because I had the coupon offer for half off.  She seems happy with it so I was glad about that.

PopSugar ships via FedEx Smart Post and took longer than normal probably due to the snowstorms on the East coast slowing up the mail.

The February 2014 PopSugar Must Have Box was all about treating yourself well. The love month is a great month to show yourself some extra love.

February 2014 PopSugar Must Have Review Create Happy Now

1. Must Have Fashion
Gorjana Brooks Jewelry Roll ($45 + $25 gift card towards purchase): This is a jewelry bag you can use for travel and on the go to keep your bling all organized.  The color is a nice dark coral and the bag itself seems high quality with three compartments with zippers.  I don't usually travel with a ton of jewelry, but I am hoping to get some use out of this.  Beautiful piece.

2. Must Have Beauty
Nourish Organic Pure Hydrating Argan Face Serum ($23.99): This will be a fun product to try because its all natural and is supposed to hydrate and soften skin.  It is made from a concentrated blend of Moroccan, apricot, and rose hip oils. I will definitely use, but I am a big fan of my doTERRA skin system so it's hard to insert a new product into my regimen. Just leave a comment in the comments field if you want me to send you a FREE sample. It is a definite game changer.

3. Must Have Home
K Hall Designs Peony Tavel Candle ($11):  So many things to love about this little gem. Fist of all it is a tiny but absolute stunning - fun tin with great label and made in the USA.  It smells heavenly and has a burn time of 20 hours.  I can't wait to light it up!

4. Must Have Beauty
Modelco Lip Pops Duo Lip Gloss and Lipstick ($16):  One of my favorite things in the entire box!  This is awesome and I will definitely repurchase this, but maybe in a different color.  The color in the box was a neutral and has a peachy flair but truly looks great!  I love the fact that it comes with lipstick on one end and gloss on the other. Finally I don't have to carry around two products!  Plus, it has an added benefit of smelling and tasting yummy... it reminds me of those strawberry belts that my sister is obsessed with. Yum!

5. Must Have Food
sugarwish Candy and Coupon ($6.25 plus $5 if you use the coupon): I don't love cinnamon candy, but I have to say, this is an adorable concept with such fun packaging that I was still thrilled! They would also be darling on sugar cookies. The 1/2 pound of candy came in a delightful aqua box with red and white stripe print on the inside.  I also received a coupon for 20% off my order.  Use code: PSMHB.  Sugar Wish is an online candy gift site where the recipient gets to choose which candies they'd like and  then they receive it all packaged up!  Such a fun idea and the pricing isn't so bad when you use the coupon and consider the coupon and shipping is included.  This would brighten anyone's day.

6. Must Have Beauty
NCLA Rodeo Drive Royalty Nail Polish ($16): I need to grow my nails back out so I can try so many of these fun colors I keep getting in the mail.  This particular color is not as red as it appears in the photo.  It is like a dark maroon/burgundy color but when you put it on it appears really dark - almost like a black shade, but it is very pretty. I am not super familiar with the NCLA brand, but it seems high quality.  Can't wait to give it a try.

*. Special Extra
Dial Vitamin Boost Body Wash (~$4):  Lots of the spoiler sites compl;aimed about receiving a "drugstore" product, but this is an awesome scent and a full 16 oz.  I can't believe PopSugar Must Have was brave enough to ship it in the mail, but it arrived safely and is a great perk to the box.

I came up with a total value of $122.25 plus another $30 in coupons/offers.  This was not my favorite PopSugar Must Have box, but was still a good one with some great products.

If you are interested in trying PopSugar Must Have Subscription, there is a code "Refer5" that will get you $5 off your subscription. You can do a monthly subscription or receive an additional discount for a longer subscription like a 3, 6, or 12 month.

Did anyone else get the PopSugar February Box?  What did you think?

i believe . . .

Because everyone needs a reminder.

Thursday Thoughts

I'm linking up with Jen from Ramblings of a Suburban Mom for Thursday Thoughts.

Is anyone else marking their calendars for the return of Jack Bauer in 24: Live Another Day?  I am beyond excited. It's still many months away (May 5) so I really need to simmer the excitement, but seeing the sneak peek promo with Jack and Chloe during the Super Bowl really made my heart race.  #JackisBack

Am I the last one to the party? I just barely learned about the "You Are Here" collection mugs from Starbucks.  I am totally looking for these on my travels.  I don't think  I would want every single destination, but some of these designs are so fun. I wish I would have known about these when I was at Pike Place last month.  The Starbucks at Pike Place is historic! These mugs are so colorful and happy and each mug can only be found in the location it represents, so I better get my travel on!

Speaking of travel. This year I earned (barely) companion pass from Southwest Airlines.  I love Southwest Airlines. Now we need to go on a vacation. Where to? I'm thinking west coast but D is hoping for florida. Last year we got our money's worth - we went so many fun places!

Last but not least I bought so many fun things at the Banana Republic sale this past week. All the clearance was an additional 40% off.   The first is a faux fur trim coat with a bow.  My sister sent me a link to the grey version several months ago and said it looked like me. I was so tempted, but $298 was out of budget. I snagged this lovely for just $60 in the sale!  It is black and not grey but it is so classy and comfortable. Plus, I can finally get rid of H&M peplum coat that no longer fits! I wish I would have noticed the L'wren Scott Collection at Banana Republic sooner. I bought this stylish teal lace skirt for just $38, originally $98 and the photos just don't do it justice.  Gorgeous satin trim around the waste and the teal lace is exquisite. Yes please I say!  And this black lace peplum jacket with some electric yellow tones underneath.  I know it looks a little wild in the picture, but in person it is a gem!  It goes perfectly with my black lace dress.  So many fun pieces.

What's happening on your Thursday!?

February 2014 PopSugar Must Have Spoilers!

This post contains referral links.

Photo courtesy of havison16 on Instagram
The February 2014 PopSugar Must Have box spoilers are in!  I have been watching Instagram awaiting a spoiler. I never can go spoiler-free no matter how hard I try. :)

Here's what I think is in the box:
k. hall designs peony candle tin: $11
Gorjana Griffin Brooks Jewelry Roll: $45 (colors may vary?)
Nourish Organic Pure Hydrating Organic Argan Face Serum: $23.99
NCLA Nail Polish: $16
SugarWish: A gift card maybe? I am hearing this is heart shaped red hots.
Ligloss: Can't wait to see what this is. Always love a new lipgloss
Dial Vitamin Boost Lotion Infused Body Wash: $3 - $5? (Each box comes with an "extra," and since this is a brand new product I am guessing this might be the "extra.")

Once I have the PopSugar box in hand then I will do my official review and include the updated values. My first reaction is "Nnn," sort of like the mom in Despical Me. Ha ha! But I get that it has to be challenging for PopSugar Must Have to provide a box that will warm the hearts of such a diverse audience. I bought this box for my sister and convinced my mom to get one too. Not sure if they will love anything in it. What do you think of the box? Anyone else have updates?

Punch Back

"People are going to tell you who you are your whole life.
You just gotta punch back and tell them, 'No this is who I am!'
You want people to look at you differently – make them!
You want to change things, you’re going to have to go out there and
change them yourself, because there are no fairy godmother’s in this world."

-Emma, Once Upon a Time TV Series, Season 1

Loving this quote!  I wish I would have learned this 25 years ago!  Bring on the feistiness.

A Few of My Favorite Things - Valentine Edition

When  I think about my favorites, I can't help but think of Julie Andrews belting out "A Few of My Favorite Things." What a lovely tune!  Here are a few of my my favorite things and recommendations for all the women in your life - for Valentine's or just because. Maybe for your girlfriends, a daughter, a sister, or even for you - because isn't it about time you show yourself some extra love!?

1. The Giving Keys necklace that came in the fabfitfun box. I absolutely adore the necklace, the company and their mission.  It would make the perfect gift for you or someone else!  Oh and you could also subscribe them to Guiliana Rancic's FabFitFun box. This is my favorite subscription box out there. It has the most on trend items with the biggest value!

2. doTERRA's Salon Essential Protecting Shampoo and Smoothing Conditioner.  Includes essential oils like wild orange, lime, peppermint, rosemary, eucalptus and others.  This is perfection in a bottle! There is nothing else like it on the market. My hair has never been healthier and I get so many compliments on my hair ever since I started using this. My stylist always asked what I am using because my hair is so healthy and it grows so quickly. She's finally a believer. Another perk? You know the awful frizz that comes with cold weather?  Experience it no more. I will never use anything but this! Send me an email at enjoypurehealth at gmail.com if you want to hear how you can get 25% or more on the retail  prices. Or if you are a try before you buy kind of girl, just email me and I will send you a sample. I promise you will never go back to your current shampoo and conditioner.

3. A print from artist, Caitlin Connolly's store.  This woman is brilliant!  Her artwork depicts women so beautifully and each masterpiece provides a glimpse into the flaws, beauty, and power women possess.  Choose one, two, or maybe even three prints! They are splendid and would be the first gift for any woman on your list. Follow Caitlin on instagram to get sneak peeks at her latest masterpieces. I am grateful to my sister for making me aware of Caitlin and her amazing gift.

4. Trader Joe's Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups: If you are going for something simple, then I highly recommend these lovelies from Trader Joe's.  I will be featuring them in my review of "A few of my favorite things" Trader Joe's Edition which will be posted next week. These are naughty. N-A-U-G-H-T-Y I tell you!  I used to be obsessed with the milk chocolate version, but I am kind of loving the dark chocolate and for some reason I feel just a little less naughty.  Ha!

5. Still looking for the perfect mascara!?  Look no further.  I have done all the work for you. I have tried countless mascaras and Trish McEvoy's Curling Mascara is by far my favorite. You can remove it simply with warm water and it falls off and leaves little black residue spider like particles in the water. I did a terrible job explaining that but trust me.  It is amazing! Unlike other mascara that requires you to wash your face multiple times to get all the black residue off, Trish McEvoy's lash curling mascara comes off so easily and it looks great!
